Clouds

Clouds today, and a day of reflection - last night I got a phone call from my sister in South Africa to say that my mum had had a heart attack and had been rushed to hospital. Things went downhill from there and we were told to expect the worst. However, she is a fighter and so miraculously recovered and by this morning she had stabilised, for which we were all so relieved.

Needless to say I spent most of the night on the telephone to South Africa - it is very difficult being so far away from family at times like these. We do not miss the place at all, only the people. When I heard about the conditions in the hospital it was very worrying. However, she was fortunate to have some excellent doctors and specialists take care of her, and they saved her life for which we are grateful.

So a quiet day, thinking about my mum.

I did not have the energy to go in search of an exciting photo - though taking photos is very therapeutic, even on a day like this after a night like that. (Some fiddling around with HDR was involved)
