Towards Whitby....

There was quite a bit of sea mist around this morning so our planned destination further south had to be put off for another day. The forecast heading north was better so we opted for a trip to Whitby.

We parked up by the abbey but headed away from Whitby to Saltwick Bay. (see extra) We completely mistimed the tides so were unable to reach the Saltwick Nab pictured or the wreck of the Admiral Von Tromp. We'll have to return another time.

We walked back to Whitby for lunch and found the place we stayed in over 20 years ago - the Shepherd's Purse and still up and running too.

We had a little walk around the town and harbour/pier. We stopped off at the brewery near the abbey for a quick pint before heading back to the cottage.

Great sunny weather if a bit on the cool side. And of course a little windy!
