The Wash Stand
Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse was a very modern house when built and completed in 1907ish.
The house has its own electricity generating supply and also a central heating, but coal fireplaces were provided in every room.
Two bathrooms were provided for the four family members, however they were not en-suite but were on the other side of the long gallery corridor.
In addition washstands were provided in each room or dressing room. The wash stand is reflected in the mirror in Frederick Sharp’s dressing room.
