Ella at the Poison Garden

We had a great time with #2 daughter and family last night. Phil had to go to work in the hospital this morning, Thomas was at a rugby festival for his age group at Corbridge and we took James to his at Alnwick where we met #3 daughter, Ella, Nathaniel and one of his friends.

Mr C stayed to watch James while Nathaniel had his mum to cheer him on. They are in different age groups so didn’t play each other.

I decided to start making use of my Alnwick Garden ticket and took Ella. She got soaked playing in the fountains and water features, we had a swing under the blossom trees and found out a lot about various poisonous plants before she had a bacon roll, an ice cream and - don’t tell her mum - a can of Coke. By then it was time to go back to the rugby.

I missed the excitement of James scoring at least 8 tries and being man of the match. He is very proud and said we’d not to tell his mum - it would be his surprise for her when he got back. Luckily #3 daughter had room in her car so she took James home to save us the 60 mile round trip. Also luckily - the rain held off till we got home.
