Happy San Jordi!

We walked up towards Avenida Diagonal in the late afternoon and enjoyed the atmosphere of San Jordi. Last year it was rained off and so this was the first real celebration of it since the pandemic.

The top middle shot - just as we were walking past Tramonti (which we call the posh Italian) on Diagonal, we spotted one of our favourite waiters serving, after having retired from there 10 years ago! He was genuinely pleased to see us, hugs all round, and explained that the owner had asked if he could help today as it was going to be busy. Lovely to see him again!

We exchanged our book and rose, as we always do. It’s a lovely tradition to keep. Of course we could do this any day, but sometimes it’s nice to be part of something bigger and it’s my favourite fiesta here. Bb gave me a bonus pressie of a scented candle.
