"Cannon to right of them, Cannon to left ...
...of them,Cannon behind them Volley'd and thunder'd; Storm'd at with shot and shell, While horse and hero fell, They that had fought so well Came thro' the jaws of Death, Back from the mouth of Hell, All that was left of them, Left of six hundred. When can their glory fade? O the wild charge they made! All the world wonder'd. Honour the charge they made! Honour the Light Brigade, Noble six hundred!"
I have lived in this town since 02-06-78 (English date) 31 years "and a day" rather makes me sound like I'm Six AND THREE QUARTERS
I'm ashamed to say I've never properly read this, looked up the battle of Balaklava, or read, fully.
"The charge of the Light Brigade.". Link dead

Busy day today. Dentist's X2 11:15, ate at Co-op, her hair 14:00, my appointment with the "Vampires" 14:10. "A pint? that's a whole armful.
Blood donating being vastly faster than hair-dos, I had ample time both to select and read today's Blip.
The one that got away,. Probably headed for Appleby Horse Fair.
