I took Albert to the playing fields to watch a women’s match.

International Republica V Dewsbury Rangers.

My phone sounded the emergency alert at 14.59 but I didn’t receive a message. I looked up to see other spectators checking their phones. The game carried on. The photo shows the rangers goalkeeper coming out to clear a loose long ball played forward by the home team.

Weatherwise the cold breeze had dropped and it was pleasantly warm when the cloud cover thinned and the sun showed itself.

But I did come home and earthed up potatoes as a frost is forecast on Monday night.
