Bowood (Sunday 23rd April 2023)
A visitor to my next-door neighbours mistakenly (I assume) parked on my drive, blocking my car in, so I had to ask them to get it moved. This meant I felt I ought to use the car, especially as I had already been preparing to go up to Bowood House and Grounds, which had opened for 2023 at the start of April, which meant that their car park was finally accessible. In turn, this then gives me access to the path that joins a lengthy public footpath halfway along, saving a fair bit of time. I went to check that it was all in order, and it was.
Before I left the car I saw a hare grazing nearby on my side of the gated path. To photograph it I needed to silently inch the door open so I could shoot through the gap. It had its back to me but it still bolted under the gate and disappeared. On either side of the permissive path were fields with sheep and lambs in them and I chose one of my shots of them for Blip.
I also walked up to the entrance to the Grounds and sneaked a couple of shots from the path (this and this) with a long lens and got some shots of tulips in an urn.

Lozarithm's Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Tristen - A Case of You (2019)
My pick from Cerys Matthews' Sunday morning R6 show is this re-imagining of Joni Mitchell's song from Blue. Tristen Gaspadarek was born in Lansing IL in 1983. She and her husband and collaborator Buddy Hughen play all the instruments on the track.
A Case Of You is the new single from eclectic Nashville pop artist Tristen, out this October. Tristen — known for her ability to wield “ear-tugging melodies with hidden hooks” (Rolling Stone) — honors the original with her own distinct spin. - Modern Outsider (2019)
“It’s a pretty ambitious task to take on Joni Mitchell; her songs are so uniquely hers,” Tristen acknowledges. “She embodies every songwriter's dream: to be incredibly unique, forward thinking, and still understood. She pulls you into her honesty and clarity, into very personal details of her romantic failures crystal clear — a unique story or character you have the privilege of tuning into — all while giving you a familiar feeling: alone in a bar, homesick, missing someone.”
Hailing from Nashville TN’s rollicking roots-rock scene, Tristen has established herself as a prolific, versatile musician over the past decade, be it by touring in Jenny Lewis’s Voyager-era band, collaborating and touring with artists like Vanessa Carlton and Robyn Hitchcock, or releasing three solo albums to critical acclaim. - Modern Outsider (2019)
