Lincolnshire

Four images from our last day in Lincolnshire:

The time and tide bell on Mablethorpe beach*, roe deer on the sand dunes, derelict Comet tank** on Saltfleet marshes, and sheltering from the rain under the Humber Bridge.

*An art installation designed by Marcus Vergette. There are several such bells around the coast and they are positioned so that the high tide waves cause the bell to ring. Their aim is to draw attention to climate change, as sea levels rise the pattern of the ringing will alter. I've seen (and heard) the one on Bosta beach in the Western Isles a few years ago. The tide was too far out to hear this one!

**This area used to be an MOD firing range and the tank was used as a target.
