Brassica juncea
Asian Mustard (Brassica juncea) now coming into flower in our back garden.
I bought a packet of Brown Mustard (Rai) seeds as a grocery item back in November from our wonderful village shop and Post Office. I sowed them before the December cold snap to cover up a patch of bare ground in our back garden: they survived as seedlings over the entire winter and over the past few weeks have grown to be about a foot high.
The next treat will be to enjoy the flowers as a snack as I'm out gardening in the next couple of weeks.
