Ribeira
Our first full day in Porto was exhausting, what with all the hills. We visited the Se Catedral, with its spectacular cloisters full of azulejos (blue and white tiles with interesting scenes). Then a wander along Rua des Flores to the São Bento railway station, also well-decorated. A "stand-up lunch" at the recently restored Mercado do Bolhão.
This afternoon I wandered along the riverside in Ribeira, with its fine tall houses overlooking the Duoro. Another crossing of the Dom Luis Bridge, overlooking some ramshackle houses and well-tended gardens and street art. Dinner back in Ribeiro and an ascent back to the hotel via the Funicular dos Guindais.
