Sooty Oyster Catcher
It has been an exhilarating day today. That might surprise some blippers when I say it's been stormy and rainy for most of the day, however once you're rugged up and have the right protective gear on it really doesn't matter!! This lovely little Sooty Oyster Catcher was down on the beach tonight at Flinders Bay and only a few metres away from Big Gus who had had a very adventurous day. His seaweed bed washed away this morning in the high tide and he was literally left like a shag on a rock. The waves were boisterous and he took to the water for a smoother ride. It was only late this afternoon that he came back onto the beach (see Mauzee's Blip) and we were happy to see that he had managed to find himself a safe spot for the night. Only 2 more sleeps before we move into our new abode, but who's counting :)))
