The better the day...

...the  better the deed. 

So on a lovely spring day,  in  a continuing and very welcome  run of lovely spring days that have  meant no rain here for over a week, it was good to get the septic tank pumped .

This is of course one of the necessary tasks of rural life.

I  don't think there will ever be an opportunity to be connected to mains drainage, even though we have had mains water now for more than 15 years, replacing the private source (the hill burn) which we used for our first 15 years here.
