The Black Boy Fountain.*
The fountain was originally erected in 1849 to commemorate those from Stirling who died in the Black Plague of 1369, which killed a third of the population. The B listed structure was restored in 2016 and tidied up recently; it comprises an octagonal masonry basin and two bowls which are on a fluted column.
My wife’s car was in for service. This let us go to the shopping mall early and have a coffee before it got busier.
*that is it’s name.
