A campanile of pink bells
We had a short quick walk this morning prior to driving to Waltham Abbey for one of our days eating, talking and often visiting garden centres or nurseries. These lovely pink bells glistened in the sun as we passed them.
We returned to the Clockhouse Nursery to purchase some new planters, picking up some peat free compost, swede seeds and a couple of chillies as well.
Al has a fine old banjo which he’s got out and tuned up so we both had a little pick with that. I love the sound of a banjo and am tempted to acquire a banjo ukulele in the future.
The journey back from Waltham Abbey is usually fraught, especially at 9.30 in the evening. Tonight was no different. Signs told us M25 was closed between 28-29, it wasn’t but lane closure warnings were in place. Signs told us that the A20 was closed at Folkestone but omitted to mention our junction was closed and indeed the M20 itself was closed between 9 and 11a.
