Learning

Or is it re-learning? I don’t really remember learning how to read - and it was probably a little different back in the “old days”. But here I am, learning how to help people learn to read. It was a long day, learning effective techniques and approaches, and finding out that a lot of the phonetics (phonemes) don’t actually sound the way I thought they sounded all these years. There are 44 of them after all…. which is where the mirror comes in - for keeping an eye on how the mouth forms the sounds. What an interesting day it was.
