56/44

Went to the local farm shop this morning, and there was something going on in the field next door.
It was a rest point on this year's London2Brighton challenge. This chap has just run,or walked, the 56km from London, and is facing another 44km of the same before he runs out of land at Brighton.
There were dozens and dozens of entrants, many running in support of charities. Those running for Help for Heroes got particularly loud cheers from the big crowd assembled to greet their loved ones, and all the other runners.
What amazed me was that virtually all the runners looked as though they were halfway through a stroll in the park, nobody seemed at all distressed. Maybe it was the thought of the food waiting for them urging them on,I heard pasta and chocolate fudge cake mentioned. Or possibly they were just pleased to take a comfort break - I've cropped out the enormous row of Port-a-loos.
Whatever their reason for taking part,it was a pleasure to see these men and women enjoying what they were doing on a beautiful sunny day.
