A busy day today, mainly involving bowls (which I don't play). Now that the outdoor season has started, Mr W and I help on the Wednesday morning team - he is the man who went to mow while I do some gardening. Or at least, that's the plan... except that today, due to a faulty numerical lock, we couldn't get into the club house to get to the key safe to get the equipment out. There was much scratching of heads but finally one club member removed the Perspex window covering that acts as a kind of double glazing, another club member took a hammer to the window glass and Mr W climbed through the window to open the door from the inside!
Then this afternoon, there was a spare seat in one of the cars that was going to nearby Westbury for a friendly match, so I went along to watch. From the ground, you can see Westbury (not very) White Horse, which is where Mr W fractured his ankle a few years ago. You can even see the tip of the ear of Westbury White Horse, which is where we were when we rang 999 and which is a location that the call handler had never heard of - and which led to our appearance on the local TV news after we'd used What3Words to get an ambulance sent out to him.
