Solent Rays

After the diabolical day yesterday the weather proved kind for the start of the bank holiday weekend with warm sunshine and light winds. A great relief as family members have travelled over for a Bank Holiday break. After a very nice lunch at my favorite farm shop cafe we took my nephews two young boys to the beach to look for shells and watch the cruise ships leave Southampton Water.

Late in the afternoon some clouds gathered to create some wonderful rays of light across the Solent. I'm sure there is a special name for this phenomenon but cannot remember what it is at the moment.
