Big tree
I've recently joined a Facebook group called Bokeh Pano - the objective of which is to create wide angle panoramic images that exhibit very shallow depth of field. Something not possible with a wide angle lens.
This picture has the angle of view of (near to) a 20mm lens, but has a very shallow depth of field, to isolate the tree. Even a wide aperture 20mm lens would not give the shallow DoF in this picture. It was created by shooting 56 separate pictures on my 85mm f1.8 lens (shot at f1.8) and stitching them together in lightroom. Shot in four rows of 14 photos, it took a few minutes to stitch and the resulting file is 1.3Gb, with 23600 pixels on the long edge (so it could print to 9 feet wide).
I'm enjoying the technique as it makes me think in different ways.
Of course it looks best LARGE
