There was a protest in town today by (mainly) local people who, six weeks after the fire at the Angel Hotel, just want the main road through the town opened up again. It’s a long and complicated story but feelings are running high and people’s livelihoods are at risk. Hopefully now the National Park have taken it over using their statutory powers there will be some kind of resolution soon (the building will be shored-up in the first instance - if only the insurers working for the affected properties’ owners had got their act together to do this right at the start).
