The piggy at Halton Church
Today was the walk from Corbridge, ably led by Sue on her first festival walk.
We planned to go into the church, but the Methodists were having a mid week service there, so that was no good.
We were able to look through the gates at Aydon Castle and I must remember to go and visit inside when I can.
Further uphill and we arrived at Halton Castle. This is a private residence but the tiny church on the estate was open. The pig lives behind the church and we do not know how long it has been shaped in this way. There is even a curly tail!
On our way back to Corbridge we visited the bell shaped kilns. Here, the owner of the house, who was due to show us around, was in a Zoom meeting, but we enjoyed seeing what we could. (See extra)
At home, I listened to a Zoom presentation and discussion about AI and photography. Sadly I fell asleep briefly, but was wakened. What a thorny issue which the RPS promises it is tackling very actively. Watch this space!!
