Common blue

A very long day of fieldwork...so off to bed soon. Especially as I have two equally long days tomorrow and Monday - no bank holidays for field surveyors!

But at least the weather was pleasant, although the northerly wind was still a bit chilly. I came across this beautiful male common blue butterfly early in the day - it was too cold to fly away from my lens!!
