First And Last

Today was the first day of the new season at the open air pool. The weather was typically gloomy but the regulars were all happy to be back.

We managed a few gentle lengths late morning, having earlier completed the Park Run where I was overtaken on the second lap by a couple dressed as a banana and a pineapple who were apparently getting married locally this afternoon. They’d come down from Ely with a number of their wedding party, who swelled the field quite considerably.

Yeovil have just finished their last game of the season and bade farewell to the National League, losing 1-0 away at Boreham Wood, failing to score for the 20th game this season. We only managed to score 35 goals in 46 games so it’s no wonder we were relegated.
