Sitting in the sun

Backblip
Another lovely sunny day in Kent. We went to see my Auntie Sue and Uncle Fred in the morning. Quite emotional as we were looking through my Great Auntie Flosses ‘bits and pieces’ including photographs and jewellery . I was able to have a few pieces including her wedding and engagement rings which fit perfectly. Also a handmade book where she had collected poems and readings, a small pot , a few photos and a couple of flower brooches. My cousin Sarah popped in to see us too, so it was nice to catch up :)
Afterwards we went to Brogdale for lunch. We went down the back roads to get there and then got blocked as a little bridge was closed so we had to make a detour.
Unfortunately a lot on the menu was not available as they did not have any eggs or fish !
Mike and my Mum had scampi and I had chicken fajita's.
We went on to Faversham where we had a wander round the Abbey physic garden and church. There are lots of interesting historical buildings many with plaques on telling about their past residence. I also noticed the different door knockers.
We parked at Standard Quay and went for a wander in the other direction to yesterday. It took us through the boat yard , full of blip opportunities. A man was hanging from a crane fixing something on one of the boats,a weird sci-fi looking object on wheels, little rusty or wooden cabins with nice gardens and this cafe at the start of the walk along the creek.
We walked over the ‘not so safe’ bridge and a little was further but there were hundreds of flies so we turned back.
We had a coffee and shared cafe in another cafe . The antique shop was open so could not resist a look in there. Bought a few pieces, the prices were very good. A pottery salt pig decorated with hedgehogs, a pretty purple glass vase and a small pink scent bottle.
Paul was going to come up in the evening but he did not feel very well.
