Still Turkey
If March comes in like a lion and leaves like a lamb, then apparently April comes and goes like a turkey. Tons of turkeys, with all their puffed up parading and silly sporadic gobbling, have been malingering around the house all month long. Try to leave the house and there they are. Arrive back home and there's a group of them running off down the driveway in front of you. Open the curtain in the morning, and there one is looking in at you. We've never had quite such a consistent presence before and to be honest it's all gotten a bit silly.
Other than that, I saw a heron on the marsh yesterday, and today a hermit thrush is pecking about in the yard. I saw yellow rump warblers yesterday and a white throated sparrow today. So spring carries on the way things do.
