Former Corner Shop

The traditional corner shop has all but disappeared from the inner city. I passed four former ones - now houses or cafes - on a 10-minute walk to this one, now The Corner Shop gallery.

Convenience stores aren’t the same. Their shopkeepers don’t go out the back to pick fresh herbs on request; nor do they stock that essential missing ingredient.

On the way home I signed Snuggles’ condolence book.
