The accidental finding

The bridge

I went for a walk this morning, not far. Down the steep path into the Heavens, over to the waterfall (flowing nicely), through the beechwood with added bluebells, down the lane, along the secret path to the Gothic house, down the next lane, up the path and into the field again, then following rabbit-paths that led to the bridge, down towards the stream again, scrambling up the bank, clinging on to ivy roots to get to the top path again, then back home again. Took about an hour. Must get back into the habit again.

Fifteen minutes later, I was hanging up the washing when it started to rain! Glad I'd got a walk in early. Sorted out the washing inside. But then, there was nothing to procrastinate about. I'd made biscuits yesterday, and spent all my weekend money, so I had to get on with the next thing: a horrendous bit of dusting and tidying. I know what to do now: take the anti-histamine first, wear my worst clothes, cover my hair, find a fun podcast....readers, I did it! I feel better for having cleared a small space in the bedroom. To sort out the whole house would require a lot more time. Or maybe hiring a cleaner.

Then I made lunch and lay in the hammock, because the sun had come out. Steve had gone for an eye test, even though it was a bank holiday. Listened to another podcast (Shedunnit), read my book (The Last Thing He Told Me) and fell asleep. Oops, not supposed to do that. Not with my fair skin.

The only other thing I worth mentioning is that this afternoon  I heard a small dog yipping, and went out to investigate. The black dog was on the grass, and Indie, our black cat, sat on the steps, staring it out, unperturbed by its cacophony. Attacat! I shooed the black doglet away. I could hear its owners calling from the worth into the woods. We get a lot of visitors in our garden

This weekend, we  have been in possession of this house for twenty years! Who knows where the time goes?  Until I?we lived here, I'd been in the rented sector all my adult life, and had had twenty-two different addresses. I thank,(whoever)  for some stability in this shonky wonky world.

PS I've now caught up on April
