Mmmmmm...dinner!

Got the idea for this photo when I was thinking about making a bird photograph for a challenge in a Flickr group to which I belong. Not sure this is what they had in mind when they made up a challenge the theme of which is "Birds".

The advantage, of course, was that I was able to get fairly close to this bird without scaring it away. Tasted pretty good, too, I have to say.

Br-r-r-r-rp! Excuse me!

04jun09: It dawned on me today that my wife's hand descending from the top edge of the frame here recalls to mind the hand of God descending from the sky in all those old medieval and renaissance paintings! And so it is the cook's grace that delivers the saving victim to us all over again...well...not quite. ;-)
