I looked out to see John trying to manoeuvre the stone onto a ladder in order to pull it a few metres, this involved turning the ladder in a semi circle. By going out to make sure he wasn’t going to hurt himself I was given the job of pushing the tip of the spade under the ladder thereby lifting it slightly. This worked as he pulled the other end of the ladder……
