Warming the toes
Day one - fishing trip to the River Dee.
Fishing huts are brilliant inventions. Salmon fishing used to be a pastime reserved for rich and snooty people and they have left behind great little fishing huts and shelters along a lot of the beats on the big salmon rivers. Salmon fishing is now a lot more accessible, so mortals like us can now enjoy the wee huts.
The fishing was rubbish as the river had not had rain for almost a month. Luckily my friend Keith is into his food and had an impressive barbeque arranged, with steak, sausages, kebabs and salad.
We were staying in a wee cottage just up from the river so no need for driving, therefore the cans of IPA were going down very nicely and we stoked up a fantastic fire in the hut to warm our tootsies after wading the fishless river.
