Night owls in Paris
I'm normally up this late (it was 1.38 am apparently), but it was nice to be able to see I wasn't the only one.
This was the view from our hotel window. I rather liked it. It seemed very typically Parisian.
My first extra was taken looking through an arch, as we entered the Louvre palace. You can just see the glass pyramid beyond, that is the entrance down to the museum.
It was a strange day. We wandered around a lot, not really managing to do anything we set out to do! It was a General Strike day in France and we had stupidly not checked to see if certain places would actually be open, compared to the previous strike day! When we eventually got ourselves along to the Louvre (which was open), we were too late for it to be worthwhile buying a gallery ticket, so we just hung out with a drink and rested a while under the huge glass roof (see second extra). A little later on we waited for a bus that didn't come (another strike casualty) and then took a metro train instead, but ended up on the wrong side of Paris! Too long a story lol, but basically don't rely on your husband using an app to get you where you want to go ;-)
