Samba Espirito!
This rather noisy but colourful band were marching through the village of Wray in Lancashire on a sunny Bank Holiday Monday. They certainly are a crowd pleaser.
We were at the annual Wray scarecrow festival. All around the village there were scarecrows created by the locals and this year's them was 'magic'. There were rather a lot of entries featuring magicians chopping bodies in half - see the second extra! There were also numerous Tommy Coopers and several Freddie Mercury scarecrows singing the Queen song 'It's a kind of magic'.
There was also a magician entertaining people with crazy experiments and tricks, and a funfair.
We were quite impressed by the amount of effort and organisation that had gone onto the event.
I'm behind on looking at all your journals too - I will try to catch up!
