Ramster Gardens
Today I took a chance on the UK Bank Holiday crowds, traffic and weather to head to Ramster Gardens. I normally bomb past these gardens on the way to Petworth, dismissing them as "just another small garden with wedding venue". Boy was I wrong.
The public gardens are basically woodlands with open areas including bogs, ponds and formal beds. Today they were full of flowers with bluebells, azaleas and acers in their spring glory. Even better, the Surrey Sculpture Society were holding an exhibition along the main trail. Even the crowds and busy roads failed to materialise, and I easily forgave the heavy mid-afternoon shower! Add a well run cafe, and it was a great day out.
