Hearth Cricket Tradition

My late night Mono Monday offering for "Tradition"; the Hearth Cricket.  I knew that there had to be a story to it. ;-)

The internet says:
"Crickets have been symbols of good luck for 1000s of years.  Legend has it that a cricket on a fireplace hearth can bring good luck and fortune to a house and the family within. The tale originates from the Charles Dickens story where the author wrote “to find a cricket on the hearth was the luckiest thing of all.”


I'm just lucky we had one to blip!
