Forest school

At school today, I spent most of the time in the forest with the children. Morning: y5/6 making kindling nests and lighting them with flints to add to our fire - all very organised and they really understand the dangers. We observed the fire closely and wrote personification poems about fire. Afternoon with Y3.... painting bluebells. It was so peaceful and  beautiful in the dappled sunlight. Main blip - working at an easel (yes we took them in a wheelbarrow!) in wellies.
