Protection

The sash windows sit on bottles/plant pots and are the nearest thing to a cold frame I can get! I’ve used them to warm the ground and then protect some seedlings but moved the first one today and instead covered the seedlings in plastic bottle cloches. I’m hoping the birds and beasts leave them alone but that’s probably a forlorn hope. The ‘cold frame’ is now covering a prospective kale patch. Sowed beetroot too, they don’t need any protection or if they do they’re not getting it.
Just back from seeing the Dungeons & Dragons film, thought it was pretty good. We stopped by The Persevere beforehand for a pint and some food, a rare venture to a Leith hostelry but it’s a good pub and we’ll be back to try out their Polish menu; the Polish restaurant is next door but you can order/eat in the pub. Sounded good to us.
