A walk.
What a beautiful walk. Sun was shining, butterflies chasing each, small bugs crawling across the path, but above all the bluebell have bloomed. This is the cycle path near Maryport golf course looking towards Allonby on the Solway coast, a cycle path that now goes all the way to Silloth. As you can see it was a flat walk which is currently ok for me. Coffee and flapjack in the golf club before returning and then visiting a nature reserve. I had never been to this reserve before, but pleased I did as not only were there photo opportunities, people had bothered to prune around ponds plus leaving the yellow flag irises (not in bloom yet) to put on a show when blooming. Water Boatmen could be seen in/on the ponds. A great time and no tree roots/stones to slip on and twist the knee!
I shall go to the valley next to Rannerdale Knotts (Crummock Water) and look at the expanse of bluebells that are there each year and I believe are of national importance. Another place is Muncaster Castle where at this time of the Rododendrons are blooming too.
