National commemorations...

Remembrance Day: May 4
On May 4, the Netherlands commemorates all Dutch victims since the Second World War. These are military and civilians who died in war situations and during peacekeeping operation...
Between 20:00 and 20:02 everyone is silent for 2 minutes.
The Dutch flag (without pennant) is flown at half-mast from 6:00 PM to sunset. There are often activities after 8:02 PM, such as laying wreaths and flowers.
Public places and shops should take the commemoration of death into account.
Tomorrow we celebrate Liberation Day, then we'll hang out the flag again
