Shoe Tree, Saugton Park

Bowling in the Water of League competition today.  One of our teams won and the other lost but we had an aggregate win so we take the points. 

Walking home via Saugton Park I passed the 'shoe tree' which is festooned with trainers.  I don't think the origin or purpose is clear but one of the theories is that it's a celebratory act.  It's too early in the season to be parting with my shoes!
