Was very pleasantly surprised by a gift of a mug from a colleague today in recognition of May 4th. It blends several of my favourite things; Star Wars, economics and terribible puns. The design is even hidden until hot water is poured in, which was a nod to LotR. "A secret now that only fire can reveal". Such a geeky gift.

Met up with I at JJs this evening. He's been raving about the place almost as long as I've known him, so I finally caved and met him there for dinner. I've never known such a tonally incongruent pub, but I did rather like it. We ended up having the long awaited chat about gender and trans-rights. We ended up respectfully agreeing to disagree.
