Grantchester
O' Grantchester, how Rupert Brooke loved thee. I doubt he'd recognise it today though, with the tranquility broken by every man and his dog diving into the calming waters and splashing about. Perhaps the guy on the left hand side is a distant relation because he didn't look too chuffed either.
Forgetting my inbuilt misanthropy for a while though, today was great. There were so many people out enjoying themselves around Cambridge, nobody doing any else any harm. Myself and Fe had an impromptu picnic by the Cam after a short walk through Grantchester Orchard. This followed a bit of time in Cambridge this morning.
Tonight I think we plan to watch the original version of The Italian Job and eat pesto and chorizo pasta. Sounds good to me.
In other news we saw the Lancaster and Spitfires fly over today as well as the Red Arrows (see Bryhers journal later). I can't get away from them at the moment, pesky rarities in the sky popping up everywhere!!
