A catching up sort of day with not much to report except it's Joe's birthday. It feels odd for we actually spoke to him last night  just as he was getting up which seems all wrong. Anyway, he's hit the giddy heights of 40! That can't be right. Esme is excited and is teasing him that he is 100 and is demanding a cake, jelly and ice cream! We last shared his birthday with him in  2020 when things were all going  a bit pear-shaped for many reasons. Look  how teeny Esme is!

Damp and muggy today but the rowan is out and smelling intoxicating.

And if you want to watch something wonderful I suggest Ireland's Wild Islands - beautifully photographed and made by a Bantry man who is a thoughtful and articulate presenter. It will make a nice change from the Coronation!
