Apple blossom, Horner
We drove back over to Exmoor for our short break . Really happy as the sun finally came out . The apple blossom at Horner was just beautiful and covered in honey bees .
We had lunch in the tea garden then arrived at the cottage .
We were staying in the one next door to our usual one but it is just as cosy with wonderful views .
Sadly, we smelt burning during the evening after a walk to the harbour at the Weir. Then the sirens of fire engines. It turned out to be a row of thatched cottages in the lane along from us . Two caught a light and eventually fire brigades from all over the West Country attended . Fortunately, no one was injured but most of their possessions were lost although the firemen tried to retrieve as much as possible. The village is rallying round the residents - all the cottages are owned by the Porlock Manor Estate .
