Formby

Despite another leisurely lie-in (isn't that what weekends are for??) we had a great day, blighted only by our near death experience (more on that later).
First, a garden relay; me out the front with the mower and Mr A out back with the strimmer.
Once everything in the garden was rosy we ventured out on the bike again, this time to Southport.
I love being out on the bike, and its nice to know that ordinarily Mr A only uses the bike for commuting to work in summer, so he's getting more use out of it. With the added bonus of not having to listen/talk to me!!!!!
Our NDE came en route to Southport; some woman in a car who was very carelessly driving with her right hand on the steering wheel and her left hand (and attention) on her ipad!!!!!!!!!
Not content with cutting us up once by swinging across 2 lanes off a roundabout, she then decided to swerve back into the first lane again. What is particularly shocking is that as we overtook her (for obvious safety reasons) she never even noticed us!!!!!!!!
Lucky for me us, that Mr A is an excellent driver so no damage done.

Onwards to Southport, which used to be one of my favourite places for a day out. How things have changed. In summary, it was chavtastic.

We only stayed long enough to find a place to eat and once refreshed, set off down the coastal road to Formby. The beach was a bit of a trek (pictured) so we viewed from afar, before calling it a day.

Home sweet home, g&t, birdsong & Mr A. This life just keeps getting better :-)
