Coronation Day
We left home just before 8am complete with packed lunch and umbrella. We arrived at Trafalgar Square in view of The Mall but only heard the cheers as the golden coach and procession came out of The Mall onto Whitehall.
We then walked with many other happy people and with several diversions, to Hyde Park and the big screen. We got there in time to see The King crowned. The rain came as forecast but not too heavily.
We walked to High Street Kensington and caught the tube to Victoria; just in time to see the helicopters and red arrows fly pass. That was brilliant. Then back home to see the highlights on television.
It’s been a very special day for many. We’re pleased we went up to London and managed to be part of the crowds.
