Warm
We arrived at the park very early and I was expecting to not see any sign off parkrun until almost nine. I was pleased to find that the man who had unlocked the gates (I presume) had left the parkrun kit on a bench.
A trickle of tourists joined us as the hour ticked by, including visitors from Queensland, Melbourne and several other places in the UK. The course was a simple one but I'm not good at multiple laps and being the only walker, I was quickly alone. The talwalker was an older gentleman and appeared to be a way behind me, until I overtook him as he picked up the 2 directional signs, with, what I thought, was a lap to go.
I purchased a running watch after having attempted to finish too soon at an event many years ago and decided I should do the third lap.
With about half a.mile left, I have a missed call from MrRIU who has been enjoying the sea view (with dolphins) at the finish and, seeing the tailwalker come in, thinks I am lost.
I quickly messaged and ask him to ask the team to wait for me. Phew. Had I been alone it would have been a different story.
We wandered slowly back to our hotel so that I could shower, stopping for coffee and the best pistachio ice cream I have ever had.
The afternoon was spent looking around the old town. Its very busy. Tourists dragging cases, scooters, mopeds, pedestrians, cyclists, street vendors pushing wheeled tables, tuk tuks, cars, buses and horse drawn buggies vie for space.
I got a small price reduction on a bag from a street vendor who, i think, said he or the bag came from morroco
