BLUEBELL WOODS
Only one possible route for the VIP and I to take for our 'midnight' walk this evening - our village's own bluebell woods. It was the first time there for him and it was so touching seeing his enchantment with the place - the massive beech trees, the bluebells, the pond and the ferns. Lovely to hear a five year old say unprompted, 'It's beautiful here, Granny!' The long tramp home down the hill was enlivened by discussions on volcanos. Does lava hurt you if you gets on your hand? Do volcanoes kill people? Even children?
It was the end of a splendid day when he had played in the woods at Ross Priory, eaten a pizza at the pottery, weeded and fed his own little veg patch, made houses in the garden and had some Lego time with the Professor while I had a wee snooze. He also had his first home made trifle. Sundays are made for abandoning healthy eating and scoffing deliciously evil puddings.
