Edinburgh Sunday
Arthur's seat was lovely this afternoon, a very quiet, calm haven above all the hustle and bustle going on down below.
The drive up was traumatic. Traffic jams and roads closed all over the place which I thought was due to the fact that the marathon had been on earlier on but which turned out to be something much more unpleasant.
I seemed to drive right up through the middle of a crime scene as there were police all over the place and people in white forensic suits taking photos of the ground where there were little yellow numbers.
I was expecting the police to stop me as my route to the secret place I park the car for my Arthur's seat jaunts was right in the thick of it but I just sailed through.
A fellow dog walker I met who lives close by filled me in on what she knew of what had happened.
Apparently someone had been murdered in the vicinity during the previous night and there were spots of blood everywhere on the pavements in the surrounding few streets. I hadn't heard any local news so was none the wiser.
Shocking situation especially so near to home.
My blip today is of Carlton Hill in the foreground with Edinburgh, the Forth Bridges and the mountains of Fife in the background. I like the mean and moodyness of it in black and white especailly after all that was going on down below.
