A Right Royal Swim

Today was the first time back in the Open Water this year for myself after my ankle break and an interesting time was had.

The weather was a bit overcast with some fog rolling about which never really made much difference to start with and with the rest of the bunch all just having a blether, I decided to push on up the reservoir for a decent swim.... Nothing unusual with that.

Then out of nowhere the fog dropped and suddenly I couldn't see the rest of the troops.

I took a moment to get my bearings and as I saw one of the reservoir sides thru the mist, I decided that the best course of action would be to swim towards that.

Landmarks then came back into view and soon afterwards I joined the rest of the group, who I think got a bit more of a fright than I did.

Anyway I took the "telling off" that came my way knowing fine well that it wasn't as bad as all that, but still it was a "good lesson" learned for the next swim.....!!

Banter, coffee and cake all followed and with it being the day of King Charles' coronation, Christmas Cracker Crowns were all adorned (apart from James) for the obligatory after swim picture.
